Introduction

The University of Manchester has been ranked the 27th best university in the world (the 3rd consecutive year), the 8th best in Europe and the 6th best in the UK by 2021 QS World University Ranking. According to the 2020 Academic Ranking of World Universities, we have ranked the 5th in the UK and the 36th globally for academic prestige and innovative research excellence that inspires business leaders. In the 2018 Reuters Top 100 Most Innovative Universities, we were the top 3 and 10 in the UK and Europe respectively. The University of Manchester has been named the most targeted university by the UK's top 100 employers for three consecutive years, according to The Graduate Market in 2021.

Over the years, The University of Manchester has nurtured 25 Nobel Laureates. Two scientists who discovered graphene were awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics in the year of 2010. Our unrivalled footprint spans Manchester, Hong Kong, Dubai, Singapore, Shanghai and São Paolo in Brazil. These physical centres support students learning by combining face-to-face and online activities. They help to continually grow our global network of almost 500,000 alumni across 190 countries.

Founded in 1965, the Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) of The University of Manchester is one of the world's leading business schools. AMBS is also included in the top 1% business schools in the world which have achieved triple accreditation from AACSB International, AMBA and EQUIS, and the Financial Times ranked our MBA the 4th in the UK, 10th in Europe and 30th globally in 2021. We were also ranked the 7th best Business School in the UK and 18th in Europe by 2019-2020 Bloomberg Ranking.

With a particular focus on Asia, The University of Manchester opened its first International Centre in Hong Kong in 1992 and has been offering top class management education to global executives in East Asia, including Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, South China and Macau for nearly 30 years.
