The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences offers graduate programs leading to the Master of Arts degree in the Departments of Behavioral Sciences, Bible and Ancient Near-Eastern Studies, Hebrew Language, Hebrew Literature, History, and Philosophy.

The Humanities and Social Sciences doctoral programme is a joint programme for all of the social science and humanities subjects offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Arts, in collaboration with the Faculty of Social Work, the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television, the Academy of Music, the Faculty of Theology, and the Academy of Fine Arts and Design. The programme emphasises the connection between study and research, cooperation among institutions, the European mobility of students and teachers, and the development of interdisciplinary and innovative approaches to study and research.

The Graduate School’s support concept for doctoral students is modelled on the well-established structure developed in the doctoral programme ‘Manuscript Cultures’, which started with the SFB 950 ‘Manuscript Cultures in Asia, Africa and Europe’ in 2011.

PhD in research via Distance Learning is awarded after successfully completing a theoretical research specialization. This research is presented in the form of a doctoral thesis. The PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) is the only doctoral degree that can be achieved through distance learning. The main requirement for a PhD online through distance learning is to present and discuss a thesis of at least 100 pages for review and evaluation by an academic committee at Selinus University. The Biomedical Sciences (BIMS) Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree program provides students with a comprehensive educational experience that integrates didactic curricular learning with immersive research training. Our students build a foundational body of knowledge and skills that prepares them to excel in a diverse array of biomedical research careers.

The Doctor of Arts is a terminal degree designed to equip students with advanced ecological knowledge, psychological capacities, and communication skills necessary to effect change in human narratives and their resulting practices toward each other and the planet.

The Ph.D. in Humanities degree program is designed primarily for individuals who wish to conduct advanced research and to teach at the college level, but it is open to qualified candidates who wish to enhance fully their knowledge and skills. Students may concentrate on one of the three main areas of study: (1). History of Ideas, which concentrates on history and philosophy; (2). Literature, which concentrates on literature, language, rhetoric, translation studies, and creative writing; (3). Visual and Performing Arts, which concentrates on visual and performing arts, creative writing, art history, and film studies.
