The Doctoral Program in Sciences in Fisheries and Aquaculture Bioeconomy was born from the academic interest of three institutions: Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas del Noroeste, SC (CIBNOR), Interdisciplinary Center of Marine Sciences - IPN ( CICIMAR ) and the Marist University of Mérida ( UMM), with the aim of training specialists of the highest level who develop analytical and numerical skills with an ecosystem approach, to carry out bioeconomic modeling, analysis, and evaluation of fisheries and aquaculture production processes, which influence decision-making regarding the establishment of catch quotas, distribution of small effort, allocation of access rights to fishing resources, closures, optimal catch or harvest times and economic optimization, among others. -
